This Georgian-era Pinchbeck antique watch chain features ever so slightly textured circular links in a soft rose gold color, creating a light catching cable style chain, complete with a watch chain clasp. Pinchbeck was invented in the early 18th century by Christopher Pinchbeck, a London based clock and watchmaker. His secret alloy formula gained popularity because of it so closely resembled that of real gold. Today, Pinchbeck jewelry is a much sought after collectible, particularly pieces from the materials early use in the Georgian period. Measuring an impressive 54" long (or a very wearable doubled length of 27"), you can wear this chain layered with other pieces, or alone paired with one of our antique gold fill lockets.
